On EdTech: Announcing expanded coverage
I am excited to announce that we are expanding our coverage with the blog and newsletter to give readers new options. The core blog is not changing other than the name and logo – PhilOnEdTech will be rebranded as On EdTech over the next month. New posts will still come out 1 – 2 times per week and remain free. Expanding Number of Posts
We are adding a paid newsletter tier for those readers who would like to receive posts 3 – 4 times per week as well as participate in shared Q&A discussion. This tier will be called On EdTech Plus and cost $10 per month (or $100 per year), and this will allow us to offer deeper and more frequent analysis. We realize that not everyone will want to get newsletters more often than the current rate, and not everyone wants the additional level of analysis that will be provided – this new tier is opt-in for these reasons.
Moving Up Launch, Free For 90 Days
The launch of On EdTech Plus had been scheduled for March, but there’s a lot of EdTech news lately that needs deeper analysis now, particularly around the OPM market and federal regulation changes impacting the EdTech industry. I’m getting a bunch of really good questions both publicly in comments / Twitter / LinkedIn replies and privately through emails and DMs. We would like to address those and other questions more thoroughly, both with additional analysis and shared Q&A. Accordingly, we’ve decided to move up the launch date to this week and to make On Tech Plus free for the first 90 days. This free period should get us past the hot topics of EdTech industry changes triggered by federal regulation actions. While the longer term plans are for the same broader set of topics to be covered as in the current blog (learning platforms, online education, OPMs, digital content, enrollment trends, etc), for at least the next month I expect the coverage to emphasize OPMs and federal regulation changes.
