It’s been an upside-down sort of week. I spent the first part of it in the sweltering heat of Savannah at D2L Fusion, and the day after I got home was a holiday in Utah. Officially, it’s Pioneer Day, though it’s more commonly known here as Pie and Beer Day (I had neither). But what did I read?

Endemic denial

Yesterday, Phil covered the IHE survey of Chief Business Officers (CBOs), which showed that CBOs largely believed everyone else had problems while they were doing just fine. I found a similar sense of denial in a recent report from Acuity, based on a survey of admissions professionals from the US, UK, Australia, and Canada.

It’s a small survey, about 160 respondents, so its representativeness is debatable. Still, some of the responses struck me as quite odd. The first was in response to a question about what kinds of innovative recruitment strategies institutions planned to use.

More perplexing were responses to a question about how they were going to communicate value.
