Some Improvements, Mostly on Schedule

It's time to focus on commenting period for TPS expansion guidance

I really need to get to coverage of the OPM bundled services exception review, which is significant in an of itself. Expect more on that by next week. On the off chance that you’re just getting introduced to the TPX expansion topic at hand, read the initial coverage, follow-up post, commentary on the politics of the matter, and description of the emerging pushback.

On to the update.

Yesterday’s news that I shared here was good. The Department of Education (ED) recognized the mistake made in its process of issuing a Dear Colleague Letter that expands the category of TPS providers and extended the effective date from February 15th to September 1st while also extending the comment period to March 30th. It is also good that trade media are now fully covering this story - see Chronicle, Inside Higher Ed, EdScoop, HigherEd Dive, etc.

But it’s time to rain on the parade a little.
