I have two quick visualization updates - the first on FAFSA completion drops that keep on improving, and the second a new view of LMS market share.

FAFSA Completions Keep Improving

Nearly a month ago, I wrote a post essentially saying that the drop in FAFSA completions was baked in, and that a minimum we would end up in mid July with more than a 10% drop from 2023, and more likely in the 11.2 - 11.4% range. I based this on a simple sigmoid curve model that has helped with diffusion of innovations. It turns out that I was too pessimistic on the mid-summer trend.

It’s worth updating that the drop in FAFSA completions keeps improving throughout July, at just over a 0.2% per week level. In other words, the FAFSA completion drop did not level out. At this point we are at a 10.4% drop from last year.
